Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings
Born in Augusta, GA (home of James Brown, the artist to whom she is perhaps most often compared), she moved to Brooklyn at a young age, growing up in Bed Stuy and graduating from Thomas Jefferson High School, and then attending Brooklyn College. She has also worked hard to become the soul revivalist icon she is today, and her success is well deserved and inspiring. Jones spent many years as a prison guard and an armored car guard as she picked up session work as a backup singer, and didn’t release a solo track until she turned 40. Her first full length record was Daptone’s first release: Dap Dippin’ with Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings (2002); six more would follow. And she is, of course, a survivor: in 2013 she was diagnosed with cancer, canceling dates and delaying the release of Give the People What They Want while she fought it.

Muhammad Ali
"We as Muslims have to stand up to those who use Islam to advance their own personal agenda," Ali said. "They have alienated many from learning about Islam. True Muslims know or should know that it goes against our religion to try and force Islam on anybody."

"Developing new ideas takes time and effort, but when the gears of the mind start to turn like a hard-working machine, concepts for new projects begin to emerge. In the design section you will find a multitude of projects that Evans has conceived of and executed, in most cases from start to finish. Like every machine, a creative mind requires upkeep. Pushing boundaries and thinking outside of the norm is vital to Evans's creative maintenance. Here you will find this approach reflected in his unique designs, portfolios, and furniture."

"Whites commit crimes, but black males are criminals"
Historian
During Reconstruction, Muhammad explains, as four million formerly-enslaved blacks were “transformed from property to human beings to would-be citizens of the nation,” what had been the “slavery problem” underwent a dramatic paradigm shift.
